You're Invited to Join us at the QFC Girls on the Run 5K!
We'd love for you to join us at the QFC Girls on the Run 5K on Sunday, May 20th! Whether you want to cheer on the girls from the course or support them as a volunteer, we've got a place for you! Here are a few ways to get involved:

Run/Walk/Skip the 5K! What better way to show girls they CAN than by joining them on the course? We encourage family members, friends and community members to sign up as Community Runners! Not only will you get a fabulous workout and leave feeling great about yourself, but you'll be showing girls that any goal can be achieved, one step at a time. Don't delay, sign up as a Community Runner today !

Be a Running Buddy! Each GOTR participant will be paired with a Running Buddy. Parents/Guardians of program participants are asked to locate a responsible adult (16+ years old) to run, walk, hop, or skip alongside their GOTR girl. Running Buddies are usually members of a girls immediate community, such as family members, teachers or family friends. A few additional inspiring and qualified women Running Buddies will be needed to ensure every GOTR girl has a Running Buddy. Email Vivian@girlsrun.org if you would like to be added to the Running Buddy interest list.

Volunteer at the Event! Looking for a different way to contribute? If you'd prefer to support the event as a volunteer, we could definitely use your help! Did you know that it takes close to 350 volunteers to successfully get 1,900 girls across the finish line? We still have plenty of positions that need to be filled! View a list of 5K volunteer opportunities and sign up .

Meet April's Girl Heroes
Ty Whitten, Chet James and the Awesome Possum
Super Jock 'n Jill Team!
This month’s Girl Heroes are Super Jock 'n Jill's General Store Manager Ty Whitten, Owner Chet James and the entire Super Jock ‘n Jill Team! Super Jock ‘n Jill has been a Girls on the Run supporter for years, marketing our 5K in their store front windows, hosting our race packet pickup at their Greenlake location, and supporting us in many other ways.

This year, with the help of Store Manager Ty Whitten, Super Jock ‘n Jill generously donated running shoes for GOTR program participants in need. Having proper footwear is essential in ensuring girls’ safety and success throughout the season and we are incredibly grateful to Jock ‘n Jill for this incredible gift to our program participants. But their generosity doesn’t end there!
