Great news!

We wrote you last week to tell you EAI found a perfect piece of land for Elephant Refuge North America (ERNA).

Now we must raise $1.5 million by October 1 to buy the land. Can I count on you to make a tax-deductible gift?

Your financial support will:

open the door to new rescues. There are elephants languishing in unsuitable circumstances, waiting to be rescued. ERNA will add capacity to the existing sanctuaries.

help EAI take captive elephant care to the next level. ERNA will build on the knowledge gained over the past two decades by the two U.S. sanctuaries, EAI's projects in Asia and the latest scientific advances.

have an impact on elephant care in Asia. ERNA will welcome mahouts who want to learn new ways of working with elephants. They will return home to share their knowledge with their fellow mahouts, starting a quiet revolution in elephant care.

I'm anxious to tell you more about the land - how perfect it is for elephants - and to share photos of its pastures, meadows, forests, streams and ponds. For now, all I can tell you is that it is located in the Southeastern U.S. and the climate is very ele-friendly. Once we have raised the necessary funds and completed the sale, I'll give you all the details.
