This documentary, which won the Best Documentary Award at the Havana Film Festival New York, examines the struggle of children living on the US-Mexico border through the eyes of four working children in Tijuana. Director Pividal will speak about the production, the border, and life as a CCNY alum filmmaker. This film was a fiscally sponsored project of TWN.

Join Director/Producer One9, Producer/Writer Erik Parker and Associate Producer Martha Diaz (founder of the NYU Hip-Hop Education Center) as they screen clips and offer insight into the making of NAS: TIME IS ILLMATIC, a documentary that tracks the inspiration behind Nas' classic debut album,

FREEDOM SUMMER Screening and Director Stanley Nelson
Over 10 weeks in the summer of 1964, hundreds of students from across the U.S. came to work with organizers and local African American communities to challenge racism and segregation in the South. Emmy winning director and CCNY alum Stanley Nelson will speak after the screening about the challenges of making this documentary and give tips and advice to emerging filmmakers.
