Annual Garden Party and Strawberry Festival  Net $200,000 for the Coatesville Community

This past year, fifty dedicated volunteers donated their time and talents to organize both the Garden Party and Strawberry Festival.  Their hard work paid off with both events exceeding expectations.

On May 20th, Jennifer and Bob McNeil generously hosted more than four hundred and fifty guests for bluegrass and barbeque at their beautiful Springbank Farm.  It was a terrific gathering of old friends and new, delicious food, lively music, and of course, scrumptious desserts.  O ver $100,000 in net revenue was raised, funds that will be used to improve the health and well-being of people who live and work in the greater Coatesville area.

A week later, the 2015 Strawberry Festival presented by First Niagara and PECO kicked off with huge crowds. More than 25,000 visitors joined us over the weekend on the grounds of Brandywine Hospital to enjoy live music, fireworks, games, rides, delicious food, shopping and much, much more!  It was a splendid weekend with beautiful weather and lots of smiling faces.  The event was a huge success and the foundation was able to distribute the following grants from the festival proceeds:   Coatesville Youth Initiative - $60,000; Coatesville Rotary Club - $19,000; Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company - $16,000 and Coatesville Area Public Library-$5,000.

This new Youth Philanthropy Program is made possible by a generous $100,000 grant from Citadel.
