Romeo Reports:
How to Throw an Unforgettable
Howl-o-ween Party!
Romeo Halloween 2014

Howl-o-ween doesn't have to stop at a funny costume. This year, why not throw an unforgettable Howl-o-ween party for people and their pups! Invite your friends to come in costume, hang up some spooky decorations, set up treat tables and plan a series of fun activities. Here are 5 ideas for a wildly wicked Howl-o-ween party that are sure to be a scream.

The Setting
  1. Bring out spooky decorations and decorate the house. Set up a treat table with two tablecloths, one black and the other orange. Layer them so that you can see both colors. Fill orange metal buckets with doggy treats. Set up a buffet table for humans. Cover the table with a spider web tablecloth that you have created or purchased. Arrange jack-o-lanterns around the entrance or along the walkway to light up guests' path to your door.
The Menu
  1. This spooky scrumptious spread will scare up compliments fast! Post this menu on a black-board decorated with ghosts and goblins:
  • Deviled ham bat sandwiches
  • Snake pit stew (chili with sausage links cut in strips)
  • Witch's brew (green punch)
  • Caramel apples
  • Pumpkin cookies
Activities
  1. Before your guests arrive, hide Halloween-themed treasures (such as treats and toys) around your house or in the yard. Send pet parents and their pups off to find the hidden delights.
  2. After guests have devoured the feast, parade the doggies around the back yard. If you don't have a yard, take them to a park for the parade. Award a prize for the best doggy costume.
  3. At the witching hour of your choosing, assemble all guests for a howling time of trick or treat in the neighborhood.
