Wilton Library welcomes sportswriter and author...
Jack Cavanaugh
Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside
Author Talk:  Monday, November 3 . 7 to 8:30 pm
Jack Cavanaugh, a Wilton resident and veteran sportswriter, returns to Wilton Library on Monday, November 3 at 7 pm to discuss his latest nonfiction endeavor, Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside, a must-read for military buffs and fans of college football and the Army Black Knights. Heisman Trophy winners Glenn Davis and Felix Blanchard - renowned during their playing days at West Point as 'Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside' - were the best-known college football players between 1944 and 1946, and Army was the nation's top-ranked team. Cavanaugh takes readers through Army's three national championship seasons as well as recounts the dramatic changes that took place in sports and college football in the wake of WWII.
In addition to his 25 years of sports writing for The New York Times, Jack Cavanaugh was a news reporter for ABC and CBS, and was an adjunct professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Cavanaugh is the author of five other books: Season of '42, Giants Among Men, The Gipper, and Tunney, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in biography.
