Volunteers Needed; 2 hours shifts and students welcome to earn community service hours
Great way to reconnect before the school year and help Paly! Paly needs parents, students and guardians to come to campus and help assemble to Paly envelopes. Sign up for one or more 2 hour shifts!

BTS Packet Pick-Up New
Tuesday, August 1st at 4pm-5:30pm, Tower Building
If you are in town on Tuesday, August 1st, feel free to stop by the Paly Tower Building from 4pm to 5:30pm and pick up your Back-To-School Packet. Any packets left at the end of the day will be mailed home. All packet forms and donations should be returned on picture day or in the office once school begins. Photo forms should be kept separate to hand to the photographers.

The PTSA is helping to sponsor the freshman orientation, and helping with the pizza dinner is a great way to get a glimpse of the classmates and their energy.

Paly Sports Boosters Meeting New
Wednesday, August 16th at 7PM, Anderson/Look home, 1401 Parkinson Ave.
Come to the first Paly Sports Boosters meeting of the year at the home of president, Melissa Anderson. We'll get an update about the opening of the new gym facilities and the fall sports season from Athletic Director Therren Wilburn plus hear Paly Sports Boosters' plans for the year. Paly Athletics hosts this seasonal parent meeting and all fall season athletes are expected to have a parent or guardian in attendance. Paly Site Council

The Paly Site Council is currently seeking candidates for TWO parent representatives. Those elected will serve from September 2017 to June 2019. The Council meets on Monday afternoons, once a month; See the Paly website for details: http://www.paly.net/site-council, or feel free to ask questions of our retiring parent reps: Hayley Gans ( drhayley@stanford.edu) or Daniel Teo ( danteo20854@yahoo.com)

To submit your name for consideration, please write a brief, one paragraph statement which includes your reasons for wanting to serve on Site Council, as well as any other information you feel is relevant. (This is also the text that will appear on the ballot.) Submit your nomination to Carolyn Benfield: cbenfield@pausd.org with the subject line "Site Council". The election will be held in conjunction with the summer mailing in August. Parents and guardians of Paly students grades 9-11 are eligible, with the exception of PAUSD employees. (Candidates must have a student at Paly throughout their term of office, so unfortunately, parents of seniors aren't eligible.

Deadline for submissions: noon on the Thursday before the Sunday of publication. Ideally items run for 2 weeks, and no more than 3 weeks. Please do not submit items earlier than 3 weeks before the event.

To submit an item, send to palylink@paloaltopta.orgSee submission instructions here. Include a header or title line, then a line listing the date, time and location of the event. Follow with a brief (2-4 sentence) description of the activity, with the most important information first. List email, contact information and web links last.  Items are published at the discretion of the editors.
