Class of 2018 (Seniors) Parent Network Meeting NEW
Friday, August 18, 8:30-10am at the Palo Alto Art Center

Welcome parents/guardians of the Class of 2018! At our first meeting of the year, Paly Principal Kim Diorio will be the speaker and update us on what's going on at Paly and what to expect this year.

Because of the library construction at Paly, the PTA has reserved space at the Palo Alto Art Center for Parent Network meetings this year. We would greatly appreciate volunteers to bring coffee and fruit/pastries to share!

If you are in the PTA directory, you should automatically be part of the Class of 2018 UpToUs Parent Network group, which is used to send announcements, meeting reminders, and meeting notes.  If you have any questions, please contact Julie Tomz ( or Julia Kossack (

College & Career CenterPaly

V olunteering in the College & Career Center (CCC) UPDATED LOCATION
The College and Career Center is located on the 1st floor of the Tower Building.  It is staffed by more than 40 parent volunteers who serve students and support our college and career advisors by performing administrative tasks and acting as the C&CC receptionist during a weekly 2 hour shift. Opportunities to work as a substitute or on special projects may also be available. Parents who sign up and work as substitutes and/or who work on special projects, will have priority for open "regular" shifts the following school year. To keep things running smoothly and seamlessly from year to year, we rely on returning volunteers for their experience in helping the CCC run efficiently.
A ll returning parent volunteers are *required* to come to the Returning Volunteer Meeting  on  Thurs . Aug. 17th at  9:00 AM  in Social Studies Resource Center of 800 building.
All parents of 10th, 11th and 12th graders who would like to become new volunteers, substitutes, or work on special projects are required to come to a New Volunteer Training Meeting on  Fri., Aug. 18th at  9 AM  in Social Studies Resource Center of 800 building.  We currently have several open shifts and the following open special project positions:
1. Scholarship Data Entry (2 positions): entering data about various scholarships into Naviance.
2. Hospitality: making treat boxes for college admission representatives during their visit to Paly.
3. College Interview Input: entering information captured on the College Interview sheet during college visits into Naviance. Attendance at the training is required in order to be eligible to volunteer in C &CC. Available shifts will be assigned on a lottery basis with priority given to 12th grade, 11th grade, and 10th grade parents.
New shifts begin the week of August 20th.
