DEEPEN YOUR PRACTICE FROM THE INSIDE OUT

When combined together, breath,  bandhas, and drishti allow practitioners to build a more integrated and advanced  yoga practice.

While we may first be drawn to the postures, it is the invisible but essential underlying mechanisms that distinguish yoga from all other forms of movement. This workshop will dive deeply into the practices of pranayama (breath exercises), energy locks (bandhas), and intentional gazing points (drishtis).

The way  we breathe (ujjayi breath) is the powerhouse for all forms of dynamic yoga, and the  essence of vinyasa yoga lies in the connection between breath and movement. Tricky  transitions, inversions, and the elusive "floating" and flying movements of yoga are  all made possible when we learn how to activate energy locks, or bandhas, deep  within our bodies. And finally, drishtis, or gazing points, cultivate focus,  concentration, and balance in asana practice.  All levels welcome.
