Woman of Inspiration: Meet Stacy Brungardt
Stacy was a mother by age 16 and grandmother by 30; she had an 8th grade education, a drug habit and was in an abusive relationship for 20 years. At age 40, she had no hope left, "I was ready for God to show me something positive in this life, or take me home." A backpack giveaway for her grandkids brought her to the Cumberland Community Church, and what would be the beginning of her new life.

Agency of the Quarter: Feed The Children
On Thursday June 23, 2016 longtime community partner Feed the Children  provided K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers with an excellent volunteer opportunity to assist over 800 families in the South Bronx. As  an international relief organization, Feed the Children's mission is to create a world where no child goes to bed missing a meal, and they currently provide nourishing meals every day to more than 263,000 children. Our partnership offers Feed the Children the ability to take the caring a step further. "So many of these families do not have proper clothing. Kids are wearing shoes that don't fit without socks or missing school because during the winter, they don't have gloves or other cold weather essentials to keep them warm," says Michael Murphy, Manager of Gift In Kind Partnerships .
"The donations we get from K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers takes our ability to give a family a helping hand up to a whole new level."  F eed the Children is our agency of the quarter for a multitude of reasons, but most importantly they provide us with the opportunity to extend our reach and really help alleviate some of the day-to-day stress families face in poverty conditions.  Thank you to Feed the Children for being such a supportive and active agency partner.

Toys "R" Us has generously donated over $72,850,533 of new product to K.I.D.S./ Fashion Delivers since 1985.
K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers & KIDBOX: #UnpackHappy
Our partnership with Kidbox gives parents and their children an opportunity to help people in need through their purchases, while fostering a charitable spirit in the family. Kidbox is an online retailer that curates  uniquely fun and effortless shopping experience, bringing parents and kids together to discover new styles.  Through the Kidbox Cares program, parents are able to have an open conversation about social responsibility helping impoverished children and families. In Kidbox's interview with   K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers President & CEO Lisa Gurwitch gives three ways to give back as a family.
--  Instead of giving gifts during the holidays or at birthdays, some families designate that they collect new clothing and/or contributions to gift to a family in need.

-- When an allowance is started, encourage your kids to divide their money into three buckets: spend, save, and give to charity. There are even piggy banks made for this purpose! This engages kids in caring about others and learning to be financially responsible.

-- Support brands and businesses committed to social and community causes that align with your values and explain this choice to your kids. Many organizations have active social media that your family can also follow to stay informed.
