Gandhi Peace Award

April 2013

Greetings!

PEP  believes it is time that the Gandhi Peace Award takes into account the contribution to world peace made by committed environmental movement leaders such as Bill McKibben, and that his past accomplishments provide multiple examples of his success in doing just that-including his witness to the impending planetary crisis for many years prior to his founding of 350.org.

To us and many others, his consistent efforts to help others appreciate the connection between local environmental dangers and their regional and global consequences make him a prime exemplar of the perspective and commitment required to save civilization.

Only if many others follow that example can there be a realistic hope of transforming the present unsustainable system into a new way based on true planetary consciousness and on an awareness that humans share this world with many other beings equally deserving of life.

Please join us on Thursday, April 18 as we honor Bill McKibben. Seating is limited.  There is a $10 suggested donation that will go to help further the work of Bill McKibben.
