CONFERENCE UPDATE 30 May 2017

HRH THE PRINCESS ROYAL TO OPEN THE CONFERENCE



We are delighted to announce that HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of the South Georgia Heritage Trust, will formally open the Island Invasives 2017 Conference on the morning of Monday 10 July in the Dalhousie Building, University of Dundee. 

TIME RUNNING OUT FOR BOOKING EXCURSIONS
 
In order for us to offer you four fantastic excursions on Wednesday (July 12th) please book tickets NOW or they will have to be cancelled. The threshold uptake to make the trips viable has not yet been reached.

1) A Highland walking tour of Ben Vrackie, a 3-4 hour round climb book now



2) Dunkeld on the River Tay, where you can visit one of Scotland's best cathedrals and see wildlife, including ospreys, at the Loch of the Lowes centre book now

 

3) The stunning town of Pitlochry in the Highlands, with its salmon fish ladder and atmospheric Moulin Inn book now



4) The historic home of golf, St. Andrews, with a whisky tasting tour at Kingsbarns Distillery. book now




Unless we get sufficient numbers by 2 June we will not be able to offer these special tours, so please get booking!

About the Island Invasives Conference, 2017
This will be the third in a series of international conferences focussed on invasive alien species (IAS) on islands, their impact and management. It follows those held in Auckland, New Zealand, in  2001 and 2010* . The Dundee conference will therefore be the first such meeting for seven years, and the first to be held in the northern hemisphere.
