Can Antibiotics Cure Your Back Pain?
by Dr. Gary Kaplan
a
Scientists at the University of Southern Denmark say, "Maybe."

New research indicates that:

  *   20 to 40 percent of all chronic, lower back pain is caused by bacterial infection, and

  *   Treating the infection with an extended course of antibiotics can help many patients avoid back surgery.

This is a medical breakthrough that will have real life consequences for many patients suffering with certain types of back pain. The research also helps to explain why surgery too often fails to resolve back pain.  Read more.
