Pro-Abortion 'Catholic' Candidates for Mayor Align With the Abortion Industry

With the Albuquerque mayoral race heating up, its important to know who the candidates represent and where they stand.  NMAFL will be releasing important information on various candidates leading up to October's election.  Recently, it has been noted that two pro-abortion mayoral candidates have been courting Catholic voters, all the while aligning with radical pro-abortion up to the day of birth activists and groups: Democrats Brian Colon and Tim Keller.

'Catholic' Brian Colon attends Nasty Women NM candidate event on June 28, 2017.
Candidate: Brian Colon
Pro-abortion candidate for mayor and 'Catholic' Brian Colon attends St. Therese Catholic church in Albuquerque, but supports radicalized, anti- Christian, pro-abortion organizations like the Southwest Women's Law Center. In fact, Colon donated to SWLC, in honor of their high dollar pro-abortion lobbyist, "Julie Koob's good work."  At the same time, Koob was hired by SWLC  to "ensure that full reproductive health services are still available in Santa Fe despite the Catholic hospital merger there imposing religious restrictions on access to contraception."  Koob is well known in Santa Fe at the legislature as a seasoned, pro-abortion lobbyist who works for clients like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, SWLC and others.

Colon has also taken thousands of campaign dollars from his long-time friend, Attorney General Hector Balderas.  As NMAFL has reported, Balderas has protected the abortion industry over women by allowing over one hundred criminal complaints against Southwestern Women's Options late-term abortion business and UNM Health Sciences Center to expire. Despite hundreds of pages of evidence prepared by federal prosecutors, rather than prosecute, Balderas has chosen to protect the abortion industry over women.

As the New Mexico Democratic Party chairman, Colon also helped a number of pro-abortion up to the day of birth candidates get elected to higher office, including Martin Heinrich, Tom Udall and Ben Ray Lujan in 2008.  In 2010, Colon r an on a pro-abortion ticket as Lt. Governor with radical pro-abortion candidate Diane Denish--a founder of the Southwest Women's Law Center and board member of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.

Candidate: Tim Keller

Like Colon, mayoral candidate Tim Keller has numerous connections to radicalized pro-abortion activists and organizations, all the while claiming to attend Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Albuquerque, according to his social media accounts. As NMAFL's Elisa Martinez reported back in 2014, 'Catholic' graduate of St. Pius High School and the University of Notre Dame: Tim Keller
has received campaign cash directly from late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd, owner of scandalized Southwestern Women's Options late-term abortion business.

In 2013, then state senator Tim Keller actually endorsed "Respect ABQ Women," a group pushing to keep abortion legal up to the day of birth in the Albuquerque city election.

'Catholic' Tim Keller has also received endorsements from radicalized pro-abortion groups Planned Parenthood, Nasty Women New Mexico and endless favorable press from pro-abortion media like "ProgressNow NM." In fact, Keller was a featured guest presenter at ProgressNow's "Progressive Summit" earlier this year, where a who's who of pro-abortion groups convened to discuss "abortion access" in NM and other issues.
