localCreekside Live Concert Series Returns Thanks to Support from Gahanna Area Business and Community Partners

Concert Series to Kick off Friday, June 5, 2015

Local concert goers can gear up for another season of Creekside Live this summer on the Rotary Stage at Creekside Plaza (117 Mill St.), thanks to the support of Gahanna area business and community partners. This year, Creekside Live is presented by Lew Griffin Insurance & Grange Insurance; entertainment sponsors are Kemba Financial and Creekside Local Cantina.

The Creekside Live Concert Series will kick off on Friday, June 5, 2015 with Soul Kitchn' with Lil Red & The Rooster. The opening act will get the crowd warmed up at 5pm and the headliner will take the stage at approximately 7 p.m. The series will run through August 14, 2015 and The Reagonmics, SWAGG and Shaun Booker are among some of the headliners scheduled to perform. 

This past year, Gahanna Parks & Recreation, along with the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation and Lew Griffin Insurance lead a group of Creekside businesses & Gahanna area organizations to fully fund this popular summer tradition. The Columbus Blues Alliance will be the event organizer while Gahanna Parks & Recreation will continue to consult for the series. Single event sponsors include the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation and Gahanna Rotary.  Community support sponsors include Fox & Fox Law Co., LPA; Funtrail Vehicle Accessories; Creekside Chiropractic Center; and Genesis Audio Ltd.

*Note: No Creekside Live concerts will be held June 19 or July 3 due to the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival and Independence Day holiday.

 

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring friends, family and co-workers to Creekside Park during this exciting event to enjoy all the area has to offer, including paddleboat rides on the Big Walnut Creek, boutique shops and a variety of restaurants in the Creekside District. Parking is free in the Creekside garage.

City Seeks Input for a Rezoning Proposal for Property Located at 233-283 South Hamilton Rd.

  

  

The City of Gahanna wants to hear from you!  Currently, the City is seeking citizen input for a rezoning proposal for property located at 233-283 South Hamilton Road.  Citizens are encouraged to join the conversation on Open Town Hall -- the City's online forum for civic engagement.

 

The comments will be aggregated and incorporated into the final record and provided to Planning Commission for consideration. The deadline for online input is June 17, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.

 

In addition to obtaining citizen feedback from Open Town Hall, a public hearing will be held at City Hall, 200 South Hamilton Road on June 24 at 7:00 pm.

bigBig Walnut Creek Family Canoe Float
June 6, 2015


Join us for the Big Walnut Creek Family Canoe Float on Saturday, June 6 at 9 am at Woodside Green Park with American Canoe Association instructor Zac Guthrie providing a "Paddling Smartstart" introduction.  

 

The float will begin at Woodside Green and conclude at Pizzurro Park. Enjoy a light lunch at Creekside. Appropriate for ages 8 and older, participants 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Canoes, life vests, paddles and tour guides are included.

Volunteer Training to Take Place Tuesday, June 2!


It takes MANY hands to produce an award-winning festival!  The Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau will hold Volunteer training for the 2015 Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival at 6:30 pm Tuesday, June 2 at Gahanna Lincoln High School. Volunteers are still needed to fill a variety of jobs including pre-event administrative tasks, set-up, tear-down and on-site event positions.
