July is Parks and Recreation Month -- a time to get active outside, get involved in the community, and to appreciate the beauty of our parks. In celebration of this month, the City of Gahanna will launch a photo campaign through our social media networks beginning July 1. The campaign will run through July 31, 2015.

Creekside Live Returns with The Pale Ale Band & Mike Dudley

The Creekside Live Concert Series returns again tonight with The Pale Ale Band and Mike Dudley. The opening act, The Pale Ale Band will get the crowd warmed up at 5:00 p.m. and Mike Dudley will take the stage at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring friends, family, and co-workers to Creekside Park during this exciting event to enjoy all the area has to offer, including paddleboat rides on the Big Walnut Creek, boutique shops, and a variety of restaurants in the Creekside District. EnjoyEnjoy Summer Events at Gahanna Pools

 

 

 

Join Gahanna Parks & Recreation this summer at Gahanna Swimming Pool (GSP) and Hunters Ridge Pool (HRP) for a variety of fun events.

 

Ice Cream Nights at HRP are Tuesdays through September 1 from

4 - 7 p.m. and Hot Dog Nights at GSP are Thursdays through August 6 from 4 - 8:30 p.m.

 

For both events, members receive free admission. Non-members are $6 per person or $20 per household. Ice cream and hot dogs are $1.

 

The pools have collaborated with the Gahanna Community Aquatics Group to host a variety of events this summer.

 

Hunters Ridge is hopping this summer with Sunday Night Senior Swim, YOLO Nights and Dive-In Movie & Family Fun Nights.

 

Sunday Night Senior Swim is free for members and just $5 for non-members on June 28 and July 26 from 7-9 p.m. It's a relaxing event in our warm pool for our community 50+. We'll bring out the grill, play some tunes, and open the pool just for you.

 

YOLO Night is a great night of music, games, and pizza just for the 4th-7th graders on July 17 and August 7 from 6-9 p.m. Admission is just $5 for members and $8 for non-members.

 

Dive-In Movie & Family Fun Nights are June 26 (The LEGO Movie) and July 24 (Big Hero 6) beginning at 6 p.m. until the end of the movie. The movie begins at dusk. Members are $3 each or $10 per household and non-members are $6 each or $20 per household. It's a new evening of fun for you and your little ones. Cool hands on activities prior to each move and then all you can eat popcorn!

 

Gahanna Swimming Pool is hosting Aqua Day w/ Food Truck Rodeo on Sunday, July 19. Explore aquatic activities, paddling, diving, games and more for just $10 per member household and $20 per non-member household. More details will be available soon!

Creekside Hops & Vines Fest

Purchase your tickets now for the 2nd Annual Creekside Hops & Vines Fest, benefitting the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation on Saturday, September 19, from 6:30 -10 p.m. at Creekside Plaza (117 Mill St). 

 

Join us for a festive evening of fun and dancing under the stars, with local beer and wine tastings, gourmet tacos by Local Cantina, live music and exciting raffle prizes. A limited number of tickets are available.

Danny's Day

This Saturday, June 27, join more than 300 volunteers across central Ohio to participate in 49 community service projects, benefiting 23 different organizations in honor of Danny's Day.

Danny's Day was established in honor of Daniel "Danny" Arnold, a 21 year old Gahanna resident, who died on June 5, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained during a canoeing accident.  Danny was very involved in the community and really wanted to make a difference in the world.

Boom Fest 2015

Boom Fest returns to Gahanna for the 4th consecutive year on Friday, 
July 3, 2015 at The Golf Depot ( 789 Science Blvd).  Organizers are projecting this year's event to be the biggest one yet.  In an effort to enhance this year's experience, there will be:
  • more parking! 
  • more food options!
  • more beverage distribution spots!
  • more inflatables!
  • and much more!
One big addition to this year's event is a free shuttle option from Gahanna Lincoln High School (140 S. Hamilton Rd). In order to ride the shuttle, attendees must pick up wristbands from the front desk in the lobby of City Hall (200 S. Hamilton Rd.) no later than Thursday, July 2, 2015 by 
5 p.m.  A limited amount of wristbands (6 per individual) will be disseminated. 

Shuttles will depart from Gahanna Lincoln High School beginning at 6 p.m. until midnight.

Gahanna Lions Club to Host Annual Fourth of July Parade
July 4, 2015



The Gahanna Lions Club will host its annual Fourth of July Parade on Saturday, July 4, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the general public.

The parade will begin at Granville Street near Clark Hall and will end at the Royal Manor Plaza on Stygler Road for the walkers and bikes.  The parade will continue to Middle School West for the motorized units.

Mark your calendar for the next Hot Chicken Takeover event! The Hot Chicken Takeover Neighborhood Tour will be returning to the Gahanna Lincoln High School  (140 S. Hamilton Rd) parking lot on  July 7, 2015
One dollar of every meal and tips will benefit GRIN (Gahanna Residents in Need).  If you miss the July 7th event, remember the tour will return to Gahanna on the following dates:
