The City Invites Citizens to Join in the Conversation

Gahanna has recently launched Open Town Hall, an online platform which is designed to give the public a voice in the City's future.

Open Town Hall encourages civic engagement by giving citizens the opportunity to share their opinions on topics raised by City leaders. The first topic posted on Open Town Hall asks residents to identify the key issues that they think City leaders will need to address in order for the City to be successful in the future.

To join the conversation, visit www.gahanna.gov and click "Forum" on the top of the page. We are excited to hear from you!

Master Plan Update Provides Guidance to Future

Parks & Recreation Planning

Residents are encouraged to review the recently released Parks & Recreation 2015 Master Plan Update.

An executive summary is available for a quick-glance version of this important document that will guide for the City's Parks and Recreation department for the next several years. The plan was developed using a series of technical assessments relating to the parks & recreation system, and comparisons of City policies, procedures, parks, facilities, programs and services against best-practices in the state and region.

Key findings indicate that the community loves the trails that are currently developed and desire additional trail connections. 78% of the community has visited a Gahanna park over the last year, which is 5% greater than the national average. And the biggest unmet needs are picnic facilities, adult sports fields, more connected trails, updating existing pools and indoor recreation program space for basketball, volleyball, fitness, walking and aquatic space.
