The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has begun the second phase of the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) project. The goal of the SRTS program is to encourage and enable students to safely walk or ride their bicycle to school.  This project, when completed will increase the connectivity of schools by installing sidewalks on critical routes used by students to access schools.  Sidewalks will be constructed at the following locations:

  • E. Johnstown Road (from Cherry Bottom Road to Colony Place)
The tentative completion date of this project is July 31, 2015. Crews will work Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. During this time current traffic will be maintained, however, there may be intermittent lane closures needed during construction.  Key areas of impact include:
  • Cherry Bottom Road - Between Johnstown Road and Springbrook Drive
  • Johnstown Road - Between Cherry Bottom Road and Colony Place
  • Heil Drive - Between Johnstown Road and Laura Drive

2015 Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival Seeking Volunteers
June 19 -21, 2015

Celebrating 17 years of outstanding blues and jazz music, the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival returns to Gahanna on June 19-21, 2015!

The three day cultural celebration, presented by the Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau, features live entertainment on five stages, mouthwatering cuisine, regional artisans, amusement rides, family fun and activities.

The Festival Volunteer Corps is the backbone of the Festival.  Last year, more than 800 people shared their time and talents to help make the event a huge success.  Whether it's helping with kids' crafts and games in the Family Fun Zone, assisting musicians, welcoming attendees as a shuttle greeter, or helping with bourbon and craft beer tastings (21 and up, please!), there are many opportunities available to have fun and help support the Festival!  To find out how you can get involved, check out the volunteer link at http://www.creeksidebluesandjazz.com
