Greetings!

Here's me on a beautiful spring day, celebrating a loved one's spring birthday with Champagne and presents!
|
I hope you're having a wonderful week so far, even if it is only Tuesday! It's always good to begin each week with a positive and optimistic outlook. In fact, I take time each morning before I start my day to spend a few minutes thinking of what I'm happy about, what I'm proud of, and what I'm looking forward to. Sometimes I do this before I even get out of bed! After I wake up, I dwell in the silence and purposefully fill my mind with positive thoughts.
Do you do this too? That is, deliberately focus your mind on what's good in your life? Even when we're facing challenges, there is always something to appreciate, something good to acknowledge.
I've noticed sometimes when I'm talking to my fellow entrepreneurs (and sometimes when I'm talking to myself!) they focus their observations on what they HAVEN'T done. What they HAVEN'T accomplished yet. How they HAVEN'T reached a six-figure income yet. How they're NOT happy with where they are.
Do you find yourself doing that too sometimes? (Maybe a lot?) Noticing what you haven't done instead of taking time to really focus on what you have done?
Well if that describes you, I'm here to be your champion today. I'm here to remind you of how fabulous and accomplished you already are! "Hurrumph!" You may be saying. "I'm not accomplished!"
Oh really?
If you're a creative entrepreneur (which I'm guessing you are if you're reading this) then you've accomplished a hell of a lot! Probably far more than you've taken time to acknowledge.
So today's article is short but full of love and appreciation for you. Read it five times. Print it out and put it on your bulletin board. Use it to create a positive morning ritual for yourself to focus on all the good stuff you've done.
Because when you feel good about yourself and what you've already done, it will give you the power to do even more.
Wishing you blessings and success,
Maxine P.S. A little about me: Although I'm a voice-over artist and on-camera spokesperson by trade, during my 25-plus years in the business I've also become a very savvy solopreneur. I know what it takes to start and grow a business, maintain an imaginative and creative mind-set, create lasting client relationships and, most importantly, thoroughly enjoy the whole process.

Are You Noticing What You're Doing Right?
by Maxine Dunn
Do you find yourself complimenting other people and supporting other people, but not giving yourself the same loving treatment?
Well if you're a creative entrepreneur who doesn't regularly take time to acknowledge all that you are, all that you've learned and accomplished along the way, and all that you're poised to be, I'm going to do it for you today.
1. You're a person of vision who's had enough faith in yourself and your abilities to start your own business - your own enterprise. And that takes guts. And it takes tenacity. I applaud you for your strength.
2. You're someone who knows how to tap into that fascinating storehouse of ideas in your brain called "creativity." You've successfully made the connection to that powerful, intangible aspect of your personality that will generously supply you with new ideas for the rest of your life. I congratulate you on making that deeply personal connection to such a valuable part of yourself.
3. You've got your home office and studio dialed in! Do you realize how great that is and what an accomplishment that is? You're organized, you're professional, and you have the discipline to keep the administrative side of your business shipshape and running smoothly. You deserve kudos for having a smooth-running home office. Not everyone knows how to pull that off! Bravo!
4. You're a caring person who has figured out how to harmoniously combine being an entrepreneur with having a family and a close social network. It can take a lot of caring, empathy, communication and imagination to run a business of your own while staying closely connected to loved ones, and yet also maintaining your boundaries. You've successfully done that and that deserves a BIG pat on the back.
5. You're got awesome amounts of self-motivation and that's a tremendous quality to possess. You stay inspired and motivated even when things are challenging, work is slow, or you have to log in a lot of hours working by yourself. You have an inner storehouse of tenacity and perseverance that's serving you well. I admire your motivation.
6. You have an innate talent for creating rewarding, long-lasting relationships. You know relationship building is the cornerstone of any successful business and you've developed that superb skill and it just keeps getting better. You have many people in your life and in your business who respect you, like you, and trust you. They know you're talented and trustworthy - your relationships are strong. You can relax, knowing that this important talent will bring you more and more success as your business grows.
These are just a few reminders of how great you are! A few reminders of all the wonderful qualities you possess - qualities that you bring to your creative lifestyle every day.
Remember to applaud yourself as well as lifting others up with your words. Take the time to acknowledge all that you are, all that you have accomplished, and all your wonderful strengths.
Take time to notice all that you're doing right!

While we're on the subject of acknowledging all that you're doing right, how about a little applause?
I think this is a wonderful idea! An applause box! Just open the lid and be greeted with the sounds of cheering and clapping from a very enthusiastic crowd.
I haven't purchased one of these myself yet but I'm definitely going to! And I think the "Box of Applause" would be a really fun Father's Day gift. Something different! This website offers it with 2 AAA batteries included.
