Travel Worldwide Representing Travelled Travelling And Globalize

February is holding true to form in the travel business.  People are always anxious to book travel this time of year in the hopes of escaping winter weather.  Speaking of weather, it certainly has been wierd....90 one day here in Dallas and in the 30's the next. No wonder everyone is sick.  If you are one of those fighting the nasty flu bug, please get well soon.  Drink plenty of liquids and try some chicken soup.  And, while you're laid up, think about your next vacation.  The world is waiting for you!

Accessible Allure Cruise
Huge Success!!!
Forty lucky people returned from RCCL's Allure of the Seas last Sunday.  A great time was had by all and many new friendships were made.  As always, our group was comprised of repeat cruisers and first timers.  The newbies quickly learned their way around thanks to the help provided by our experienced sailors.  This group consisted of mostly amputees but, as always, we had people with other disabilities as well.  Everyone is always welcome.  One of the highlights of the cruise was outstanding entertainment.  We enjoyed a fantastic production of Mamma Mia which had everyone dancing in their seats.  The Aqua Show provided us with gasps of awe as we watched divers enter the small pool from the very top of the ship. Another group of skilled professionals enchanted us with their ice skating as they made jumps and twirls look so effortless as they glided around the ice rink.  Our very own Steven Walker (quad amputee) got up on stage with the headliner and danced his heart out to everyone's delight.  Steven has been cruising with us for a few years and always brings a smile to everyone's face.
Another highlight of the cruise was watching three of our amputees zip line over the Boardwalk.  Two of them were bilateral.  The crew was outstanding with their support and help.  As the guests zipped through the air, a crew member ran to the end spot with their prosthetic legs.  Kind of crazy but lots of fun!  Come have fun with us next time....February 2 - 11, 2018 on Navigator of the Seas.

Easy Access Travel Returns to ALASKA!!!
We will be doing another Alaska Group Cruise round-trip Seattle August 4 - 11, 2018.  This time we will be cruising with NCL on a ship being built specifically for Alaska, Norwegian Bliss.  She is not built yet but promises to be absolutely amazing with walls of glass for your viewing pleasure.  Complete details have been posted to my website.  We have just secured space and are anxious to share it with you.  NCL is known for the hulls on their ships being painted by famous artists.  The Bliss will have her hull painted by Wyland, famous for his paintings of whales and sea life that decorate many building walls on the West Coast.  We are also working on a two night Seattle pre-cruise adventure.
Please email or call to sign up.  Many cabins already spoken for.

Do You Know What a Kiwi Is?

Kiwi  is the nickname used internationally for  people from New Zealand , [1]  as well as being a relatively common self-reference. The name derives from the  kiwi , a  flightless bird , which is native to, and the  national symbol  of, New Zealand. Unlike many demographic labels, its usage is not considered offensive; it is generally viewed as a symbol of pride and endearment for the people of New Zealand.

or....
Kiwis are small fruits that pack a lot of flavor and plenty of health benefits. Their green flesh is sweet and tangy. It's also full of nutrients like vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin E, folate, and potassium. They also have a lot of antioxidants and are a good source of fiber. Their small black seeds are edible, as is the fuzzy brown peel, though many prefer to peel the kiwi before eating it.
Thanks to different growing locations, kiwis can be in season year-round. They're grown in California from November to May, and in New Zealand from June to October.

and...
Kiwi (pronounced  /kiːwiː/) or kiwis are  flightless birds native to  New Zealand, in the  genus Apteryx and family Apterygidae. At around the size of a domestic chicken, kiwi are by far the smallest living  ratites (which also consist of  ostrichesemusrheas, and  cassowaries), and lay the largest  egg in relation to their body size of any species of bird in the world. [4] DNA sequence comparisons have yielded the surprising conclusion that kiwi are much more closely related to the extinct Malagasy  elephant birds than to the  moa with which they shared New Zealand. [5] There are five recognised species, two of which are currently  vulnerable, one of which is  endangered, and one of which is  critically endangered. All species have been negatively affected by historic  deforestation but currently the remaining large areas of their forest habitat are well protected in reserves and national parks. At present, the greatest threat to their survival is predation by invasive mammalian predators.
The kiwi is a national symbol of New Zealand, and the association is so strong that the term  Kiwi is used internationally as the colloquial  demonym for New Zealanders.

Want to experience all three versions of a kiwi?  Let us know if you're interested in visiting the charming country of New Zealand with us in December, 2017. We are working on details and will fly down under if enough of you are interested.  As always, this trip will be fully accessible.  It is a land trip, not a cruise.

Deb's Medical Update
& Travel Adventures

Just finished my second cruise as a Weight Watcher and I feel fantastic!  No bread or desserts and I don't feel cheated.  I enjoyed not feeling stuffed or bloated and filled up on fruits and veggies.  My weight loss is steady although extremely slow.  I think some of it is due to the fact that I'm still in a temporary prosthesis which are on the heavy side and I'm still experimenting with socks, etc.  But, I am determined and will continue to pursue my weight loss goal.  I just got fitted with a new type of prosthetic...a suction system instead of a pin system and I'm hoping it will result in more comfort as my walking improves.  It just shows that you can teach an old dog new tricks!  Last week was one year that I had my left leg amputated and what a year it was.  Despite slow healing, difficulty being fitted and slow walking progress, I still managed to travel to Alaska, New Jersey, Phoenix, Miami, Barcelona, Italy, France, Hawaii, Virginia and the Western & Eastern Caribbean.  If I can do all this, you can certainly travel too.  A huge thank you to everyone for your constant support and for traveling this road with me.

Just Doing it a little Differently.....

We are excited about our upcoming Spina Bifida Cruise in May on RCCL's Harmony of the Seas.  We will donate funds to the National Spina Bifida Organization.  We are looking forward to cruising with repeat clients and are excited about welcoming new cruisers to our group.
