Happy Thanksgiving
give thanks - Thanksgiving concept - words in white chalk on a blackboard surrounded by pumpkins
Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday.  I love the food, getting together with family and friends, the weather and thinking about everything I am grateful for.  I have so much to be grateful for this year.  A loving and supportive husband who has made my needs his priority, a wonderful family, excellent doctors, colleagues who have been on this journey with me and, most importantly, the greatest clients anyone could have.  You have all been so understanding and caring.  So, I give thanks to all of you for being so much more than clients.  You are my friends and I am so very grateful to have you in my life.  May you all enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, food and friends.

SOUTH AFRICA IN 2018!!!

I am currently working with an outstanding tour operator in South Africa to plan an accessible safari and cultural experience. Details will be available soon and we will begin taking reservations at that time.  As with all of our land tours, space will be extremely limited so let me know if you are interested.  This trip will commence on May 24, 2018 and will be 10 nights not including air travel.  Stay tuned for details!

Cruise Planners Convention 2016

Steve and I recently returned from the 2016 Cruise Planners Convention (CPCon16) and it did not disappoint.  Home office does an incredible job of wowing us and inspiring us to be better travel agents.  As always, I came away energized and full of new ideas to improve how I do business.  It was especially exciting for me to see all of my colleagues who have been so supportive of my health situation this past year and to be able to thank them in person.  Their encouragement and yours (my clients) has been so important in my continued improvement.
The highlight of the convention was being awarded the Cruisitude Award.    Here at Cruise Planners, we believe that Cruisitude is the epitome of going the extra mile, having a positive attitude and never giving up.  I am so very proud to have been given this honor.
Did I mention that Steve and I each won a Viking River Cruise for two?  Our entire table of 10 won as we answered all the answers in the quiz correctly.  Hope my walking improves enough over the next year so I can enjoy my prize!

Pineapple, Luaus & Ocean Breezes

Just a few of the things that awaits our group of 21 in just two short weeks.  Yes, we are off to spend three nights at the Waikiki Marriott and then we will sail for seven nights around the Hawaiian Islands.  I am so looking forward to this trip with some old friends and some new ones.  A full report will be in our December Newsletter.

Deb's Medical Update
& Travel Adventures

The travel highlight of November was attending CPCon16 which I talked about here already.  In addition to the outstanding convention was two nights on RCCL's Harmony of the Seas for her US Inaugural. Even though I had sailed on her last September with many of you, I still enjoyed seeing her again and enjoying all she has to offer.  Harmony is an amazing ship and I look forward to escorting my Spina Bifida Group on her in May, 2017.
Just two days ago, I hit a bump in the road medically.  I was doing fine and working on walking when my right knee decided to swell to extreme proportions making it impossible to wear my prosthesis on that leg.  It needs to be aspirated (drained) but because I'm on blood thinners, I had to wait.  I go back to the doctor in the morning and I am hoping that they will be able to do this procedure than so I can enjoy my grandkids and Thanksgiving.  Looking forward to being back on my "feet".

Just Doing it a little Differently.....
