Stressed out? Read this!article2
stress cartoon
The mind is part of the body, and that physical health problems can result from stress. Some are things you might notice right away: headaches, heartburn, sleep changes, increased pain, and frequent sickness. Others are longer-term and more subtle, such as increased blood pressure, weight changes, or diabetes complications.

That's why Families First Health Center has counselors on staff to help our patients develop stress-fighting strategies. Peter Fifield and Candace Stohl can help you:

  • recognize the signs and symptoms of stress
  • identify triggers for stress reactions
  • train yourself to relax
  • reinforce healthy thinking strategies
  • enhance your problem-solving skills.

Could this help you? If so, ask a Families First receptionist to make an appointment for a behavioral health consultation (603-422-8208 ext. 1), or talk to your provider next time you are here for a medical visit.

HealthTipA gift for parents

Joyce Robitaille, New Hampshire resident and mother of three grown boys, has generously provided Families First with a little gem that all parents can appreciate. Her book Raising Well-Behaved Kids: A Simple Guide is available free for Families First clients. It's full of useful suggestions on issues that every parent faces. Pick up a copy in the Health Center waiting room while supplies last.
