Youth Grow Coordinator: This position will help expand our program to serve more children in the Portland area. Youth Grow teaches at risk children where food comes from, the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, how to grow food, and how to protect natural resources for the health of all.

Join us for an office work party. We're looking for 4-5 volunteers to help us conduct phone surveys and organize seeds for our 2012 growing season.

Volunteers will be calling Home Gardeners and conducting our end of year survey to gather opinions and data. The results will help GROWINGGARDENS evaluate the Home Garden Program.

We will also be spending time organizing seeds for next year's growing season.

Every year GROWINGGARDENS connects a volunteer garden mentor to each of our 1st year Home Gardeners. We need experienced gardeners who are able to work one on one with a low-income beginning gardener throughout 2012.

This year we will be piloting our Growing Huertos Program, which will increase services for Spanish speakers. We need several bilingual garden mentors to help our Spanish speaking Home Gardeners.

Each mentor is expected to attend a full day orientation/training and three 2-hour workshops with their gardener. In addition each Mentor will do at least four site visits with their gardener through out the year.
