Garden Building Volunteers needed ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thursday, November 10 - 12-4pm
Join Growing Gardens staff and other volunteers in building in-ground garden beds for two families. We'll build the gardens using double digging and sheet mulching methods. No experience necessary! For more information or to sign up contact Rodney at rodney@growing-gardens.org or 503-284-8420.

Volunteers needed to help teach cooking classes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Youth Grow is looking for volunteers to help with family cooking classes at schools in NE and SE Portland. Classes will be held on Thursday or Friday evenings, once or twice per month beginning in December. Classes will last between 1 and 1.5 hours, and will focus on preparing seasonal produce. Spanish language skills are helpful but not necessary.

We need volunteers to staff a Growing Gardens outreach table at a City of Portland Fix it Fair. Volunteers will work with other volunteers and Growing Gardens staff to provide information to the community about our programs. Tuesday, November 15 Dine Out to Dig at the root of hunger! On November 15 Ciao Vito will donate a portion of the evenings proceeds to Growing Gardens! In addition, garden and food themed door prizes will be given out through out the night. Thanks Ciao Vito! |

Celebrate the start of the giving season with Give!Guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again Growing Gardens is pleased to be featured in Willamette Week's annual Give!Guide. Donate to Growing Gardens through the Give!Guide and receive some pretty cool prizes!
Look for the Give!Guide in all copies of Willamette Week on Wednesday, November 9.
