Lent and Easter Season 2014

Illuminate (Lent Series)

During the season of Lent we will examine the life of Jesus. From his birth all the way to his resurrection on Easter Sunday. We will look at the ministry and miracles of Jesus, what others thought of Jesus, his claim of being the son of God, and his death on the cross. As we look at his life we will see that he brought light into the dark world. For awhile the world fell in love with the light, but as the cost of following him increased those who followed him began to leave. The light seemed to fade into darkness. Eventually he would give himself over to death and even those closest to him would deny him. But that's not the end of the story!

Lent Prep

March 9 & 10 | Rm. D-3

Sunday is the first Sunday of Lent, the journey toward Easter. Lent is a time to remember the sin that caused darkness in our world and in our lives. It is a time of confession, repentance and thankfulness to God. Lent offers us the opportunity to stop and contemplate His love, forgiveness and grace offered to us so freely.

In our crazy world, stopping is not in vogue and even finding a place for quiet reflection is often difficult. So to provide everyone with an option, all day Sunday and Monday, we have prepared a space to find information about Lent, prayer, fasting and more. For those who will be helped by a guide, one will be provided for those who would like to use it but would find coming back to the church difficult. Guides can be picked up at Guest Services or better yet, downloaded from the church's website.

As we begin to prepare our hearts to celebrate the resurrection, everyone is encouraged to take advantage of these tools and spaces. Take a few minutes to stop and contemplate. Remember and repent and be thankful for the sacrifice and for the grace that God has lavished upon us.

Men's Huddle
Come join us this Saturday at 7:30am in Rm. E-108 for great food and a guest speaker.

Sharing with us is Mike Otto, one of our very own Elders. He will be speaking on the topic of Commitment entitled: "Do It".

Don't forget to Spring forward!
Hard to believe it's that time already, right? Although it's felt like spring most of this year's winter season, the time sure has flown.
So remember to set your clocks ahead 1 hour on Saturday night. If it helps, go ahead change them earlier in the day!
