CINCINNATI WORLD CINEMA SCREENINGS | |
British Television Advertising Awards
Makeup Screening November 7| 7:30pm
A fast-paced session of funny, clever, creative commercials and powerful, touching PSAs made in the UK for worldwide distribution, with significant variety and emotional impact, the adverts and PSAs tell stories - they are literally little movies that generally have much longer run-times than their American counterparts.
Social hour with cash bar precedes screening.
Please note: This is the makeup screening for the cancelled October 18 screening. Tickets originally sold for that screening will be honored. --------------------------------------------- Killing Kasztner Monday, November 14| 7:00pm Set in Tel Aviv, Killing Kasztner is a documentary by Gaylen Ross about Rezso Kasztner - the Jew who faced down Adolf Eichmann, saved thousands, and paid with his life. True stories rarely contain a historic mystery, a courtroom drama, a political murder, and a family saga, but all can be found in the contentious story of Rezso Kasztner. In Nazi occupied Hungary, Kasztner dared to negotiate face to face with the architect of the Final Solution, Adolf Eichmann. Kasztner secured a rescue train for 1684 Jews from Budapest, and bargained for tens of thousands of more lives -- the largest rescue of its kind during the Holocaust.
Social hour with cash bar precedes the screening. Fillmmaker Gaylen Ross will be present for post-film discussion.
Call the Box Office at (859)957-1940 for tickets, or order online at www.cincyworldcinema.org.
--------------------------------------------- The Time That Remains | Two Screenings Tuesday, November 15 & Wednesday, November 16 | 7:30pm Elia Suleiman's tragicomic masterpiece, in which striking visuals and witty irony frame a surreal story about the survival of dignity and humanity.
Social hour with cash bar precede each screening with a la carte hors d'oeurves catered by the Europa Bistro & Caf.
Call the Box Office at (859) 957-1940 for tickets, or order online at www.cincyworldcinema.org.
