"Just Wondering, Jesus ...
Why Is There So Much Suffering?"

Dear Members & Friends of Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
We are entering the third week of our Lenten journey. This Wednesday we try to tackle the age-old and difficult question, "Why is there so much suffering?" No where has anyone really discovered the answer to that question, including Jesus. But what Jesus does provide is assurance. Assurance that, while there will always be suffering in this world, He brings peace in the midst of it. We will focus on that question as we look for ways that God is present in our lives in the midst of pain, suffering, sorrow, and loss. I hope you can join us at either 11:30 am or 6:30 pm for worship.
Also, this coming Sunday we will hear again the story of Jesus overturning the tables of the merchants as he is angered that they are making his Father's house a marketplace! It's an interesting display by Jesus - not the meek and mild Jesus we so often hear about. We'll hear more about the difference between righteous and self-righteous anger and when and where they are appropriate to display.
I hope you are all dug out from the snow and enjoying our warmer weather. Mike Lynch went out on a limb today and predicted we are done with sub-zero temperatures for the remainder of our winter. Let's hope and pray he's right!
Peace to you in the name and spirit of Jesus,
Pastor Dale
