"Just Wondering Jesus . . .
Why Do You Allow Free Will?"

Dear Members & Friends of Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
We are nearing the end of our Lenten journey through the wilderness. I pray your spiritual "spring training" is helping and preparing you for the celebration of the resurrection on Easter. Throughout our wilderness journey at Our Savior's this year we have been asking questions of Jesus. Deep questions. Honest questions. Important questions. These questions continue this week as we ask, "Just wondering, Jesus, why do you allow so much free will?"
This is a question which is perhaps at the core of so many other questions of faith and life. This question gets at the choices we make in faith and life. As a result of those choices we make, our lives can go any number of directions - for better or for worse. We will explore the experience and choices of Adam and Eve as well as Jesus' own choices while being tempted by Satan in the wilderness following his baptism. I believe the reasons for their choices have much to teach us about how we might go about making our own choices. Please join us again this week on Wednesday at either 11:30 am or 6:30 pm.
Also, this coming Sunday is Palm Sunday. It is the beginning of our week-long recognition and worship surrounding the passion of our Lord. It begins with the celebrative procession of Jesus into Jerusalem with shouts of "Hosanna!" and waving of palm branches. It continues to the remembering our Lord's great love for us in the washing of feet and sharing of communion with the disciples on Maundy Thursday and to his crucifixion on Mount Calvary on Good Friday. As we know, the story doesn't end there. Our week-long worship and remembrance will end the following Sunday on Easter with shouts of "Alleluia!" and "He is risen!" I look forward to seeing many of you joining with us in worship as we remember and rejoice.
If you're on Spring break this week, I wish you rest, renewal, and relaxation :)
Pastor Dale
