JAH PEOPLE
Spreads Love the Marley Way with
ROCK THE FUTURE Philly!

EVENT ALERT

Rock To The Future Philly's Young Summer Camp Musicians

Set To Help Philly Reggae Band JAH PEOPLE Remix New Single

"Take Your Time" From Their Debut Album, Rising High

[PHILADELPHIA, PA] Sims Media & PR announces the following special performance event and media opportunity:

WHO:      Philly-Based Reggae Band JAH PEOPLE + ROCK TO THE FUTURE PHILLY

WHAT:    "Rock To The Reggae!": A Bob Marley-Inspired Visit from JAH PEOPLE

WHEN:    Monday, July 20, 2015 - 11:30AM

WHERE:   St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 2139 E. Cumberland St., 2nd Fl., Philadelphia, PA 19125 (parking on Trenton Avenue)

WHY: After the well-received debut of their album Rising High and a summer chock full of festival and special event appearances, Philadelphia's rising reggae band JAH PEOPLE is set to spread their message of peace, love and unity to some of the city's littlest musicians.

In preparation for the release of their next Rising High single, "Take Your Time", JAH PEOPLE is enlisting the help of the 7- to 12-year-old "Guitar Star" summer campers from ROCK TO THE FUTURE PHILLY, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2010 to provide music education to Philadelphia's underserved youth. The campers will help to create a special "remix" version of "Take Your Time", which appears originally on Rising High with reggae legend, Ras Professor.

According to program director Josh Craft, at no cost to youth or their families, Rock to the Future's year-round programs use music to ignite passion and creativity, support academic achievement, and improve self-esteem among participants. At a time when music and arts programs continue to be downsized or eliminated from school budgets, the camp, along with generous and caring members of the music industry such as JAH PEOPLE, hopes to cultivate a new generation of artists.

"We really wanted to connect with young people who don't have enough resources," said Dean Rubenstein of JAH PEOPLE. "What better way to do that than to give of our own time and talents? Our goal is to perform about themes we can all relate to - peace, love, and unity. That's a message our city needs more than ever right now."

Media outlets are invited to attend JAH PEOPLE'S performance

and hands-on "Take Your Time" jam session with the summer camp participants.

Please RSVP to simsmediapr@aol.com.

ABOUT JAH PEOPLE: Roots. Rock. Reggae. #PhillyStyle

As an entity, Philadelphia-based reggae band JAH PEOPLE looks like what one might achieve when crossing the diversity of a United Colors of Benetton ad with the juke joints of Kingston, Jamaica. They are individual personalities and talents within their own right - Dean Rubenstein, Alesia Dessau, Noah Sokoloff, Andrew Walls, Mike Stankus, and Josh Klein - tightly wrapped by their love of music.

In June 2015, JAH PEOPLE blessed the fans with RISING HIGH. the band's first original album including an infectiously brilliant update of Marley's "Exodus", along with a special guest appearance from Philadelphia rap legend FREEWAY on the title track, "Rising High", reggae legend RAS PROFESSOR, and much more.
