About Us
Tiny hands logo on brown

Tiny Hands is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the church in the developing world to help the poor overcome poverty and become lights of the world.  We are committed to finding the greatest injustices in the world, and working towards relieving them however possible.  We are particularly called to orphans, street children, and the victims of the sex-trafficking industry. We want to find those who are already doing the work, who are called and faithful, and help them do it in greater ways and with more efficiency. We do it all in obedience to, and for the glory of Jesus Christ.

 4:17-18

"Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.  For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.  For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

Prayer Requests

  1. Pray that God would remove all the existing roadblocks in order for Tiny Hands to get their much needed NGO status in Nepal.  This is critical for us if we to continue our ministry in Nepal.

  2. Pray for the Brenden Stai Golf auction and event.  Pray that many would register for the golf tournament and that we would have a great turnout for the dinner/auction the night before.

  3. Pray that God would clearly direct our steps as we consider the possibility of doing our anti-trafficking work in Thailand and Burma.  This is a huge hub of sex-trafficking in that part of the world.

  4. Pray for the work of our Investigations work in Nepal.  We have several pending cases that our investigators are working on and are asking God to bring them to completion quickly.

  5. Pray for the safety of our Nepali staff as the work becomes more dangerous.  Pray particularly for John and Aksha and Aksha's family.

Dear Friends,

smooth sailingSometimes I think people get the idea that if you are involved in kingdom building work, it's pretty much smooth sailing. I'm here to tell you...NOT SO MUCH!  I know we shouldn't expect this work to be, for the most part, problem free.  After all, the enemy is still alive and well "seeking those whom he may devour."  The battle rages, and it rages right in the place where he could do the most damage.

You see, in Nepal you need to re-register the projects you are working on annually. For us, that means the children's homes, border-monitoring work, Dream Center, etc. Normally the process is fairly easy and uneventful.  Not for us...not now.  Without going into all the details, let me just say that there is strong opposition in parts of the Nepali government toward most Christian organizations.  Tiny Hands is one of those that seems to have been singled out for special scrutiny.  Part of it, I'm convinced, is the unbelievable way God has blessed our children's home ministry.  There is some strong government push back against our children's homes due to the fact that we proclaim the gospel to the children often and directly.  In fact, that seems to be the most significant roadblock to our re-registration.  We heard that several people from the government agency that oversees NGO (non government organizations) registrations visited one of our homes recently.  It was interesting that the timing of their visit coincided perfectly with the home's worship time.

We are hopeful that these issues will ultimately get resolved and allow us to be able to renew the registration of our projects but, at this time, that isn't guaranteed.  To say it's been a difficult and anxious few months would be an understatement.  Again, God continues to remind us that Tiny Hands is HIS ministry and HE will make provision for that which is HIS.  To trust God in the easy times is well, pretty saying -- I was the somebody easy, but to trust Him during the times where it looks like all might be lost is an exercise in dependence and faith building.  And if we are going to be an impactful Kingdom-building ministry, these are lessons we desperately need to learn!

I know many of you have prayed for us faithfully during this time and we are extremely grateful for your willingness to stand in the gap for us!  We are asking you to faithfully continue to do so!!  You prayers are a continual blessing to us!

Could God Be Expanding the Reach of
Tiny Hands?

Thailand expansion?
THI President, John Molineux, meets with Thailand government officials to propose anti-trafficking work

We talk a lot as a staff about not wanting to run ahead of God's plans for this ministry, about desiring to carefully listen for His leading and then faithfully follow. We are now in that place of discerning His leading as we prayerfully consider the possibility of expanding our anti-trafficking efforts into the country of Thailand.  It seems that God is opening some significant doors for us to pursue this possibility.  We have connected with a couple of amazing Christian ministries in Thailand who have a heart for this kind of work but not the experience or expertise to carry it out.  They believe God has directed them toward Tiny Hands as a ministry partner in order to help them address the horrific issue of sex trafficking along the Thai/Burma border.  Thailand has long been identified as one of the most trafficked countries in the world so it's a natural next step for us if that's where God is leading us.  Our President, John Molineux, recently spent four weeks in Thailand meeting with high-ranking officials from both countries about the possibility of doing a border-monitor or transit-monitoring work.  He was extremely well received, and all the government officials seemed genuinely excited to pursue the possibility of taking the next steps.

Obviously there are a couple of very important obstacles to overcome in order to make this possibility a reality.  First, it will be very important that we are able to work closely with the Thai government.  From our experience in Nepal we well know the difficulty of doing this kind of work without full government support.  Second, as with anything we do, we will need to secure the funding for the startup expenses and the first year's operating expenses.  If God is directing us to go, it would be a great blessing to join God in doing the work of "setting the captives free" in Thailand!

Your prayers and support are vital to this decision!

Moving Time

Dream Center

You may have recently become aware that as a result of some issues with the Nepali government, our construction plans for the Dream Center project have been significantly delayed.  However, it is looking more and more like the first two homes on the Dream Center land will be ready to move into within the next couple of weeks.  Holy Home and Paradise Homes are ready to pack up and move out of their existing homes and head to the Dream Center.  We are so excited that these two homes will be able to experience, on a daily basis, the wonders and blessings that their new environment will provide them.  Just this week I was visiting with one of the girls from Holy Home (Shristy) on Facebook, and she was sharing with me the excitement all of the kids were feeling about their impending move to the Dream Center!  The very thing that was but a distant dream five years ago has now turned into a reality!  Praise God for His untold blessings!!

Hohlen boys on porch
Carter amd Turner Hohlen

Turner Hohlen and Carter Hohlen, ages five and seven, are sons of Todd and Steph Hohlen of Lincoln, NE. They attend Lincoln Christian School and love making pictures. Their mother says they will sit and draw, paint, and color for hours. When they wanted to make some money with their art, Steph suggested they might sell their work for a good cause. The boys had heard of Tiny Hands and decided that was "their cause"!  So last December the boys held an art show on the front porch of their house. Yes, in December!

Stephanie posted about it on Facebook and family and friends stopped by. Several people from out of town donated money to Tiny Hands in their names. The boys loved the experience and are planning to have another art show soon and to recruit other kids to help them.   people on Hohlen porch

What a great idea for parents to help kids learn at an early age to give. And what an example of giving of one's talents and energy to further the Kingdom of God!

Thank you Carter and Turner and Steph and Todd Hohlen!
