Community Education

                                Dear Park Spanish Immersion School Community:
                               

                                We sincerely hope that you and your family are having a great week!  As the school year continues to progress, and weather continues to shift, we have many "layers of student clothing" around the building.  Please ensure that your clothing is labeled, and check out the "Lost and Found" the next time that you are in the building.
                               

                                Thanks to Sr. Anderson, our orchestra teacher, and Sr. Morrissette, our band teacher for their leadership  Our orchestra and band students did a great job representing our school and their learning yesterday at the school concert.  It is so wonderful to see the progress that the students make throughout the year.  We are grateful for everyone's support of these programs.
                               

                                I am looking forward to watching our fourth and fifth graders perform in the vocal concert next Thursday at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium.

                                We have a week of field trips next week.  On Monday, our second graders will venture to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska.  On Tuesday, our fourth graders will visit the Bakken Museum in Minneapolis.  On Thursday, our first graders will be amazed at the Minnesota Children Theatre Company with "A Year with Frog and Toad."  Thanks to all the chaperones!
                               

                                As a reminder, we do not have classes next Friday afternoon, May 19th due to staff professional development.  Classes will be dismissed at 12:55 pm. 
                               

Please join me in welcoming Astein Osei as our new Superintendent of Schools, pending contract negotiations. Thanks to those of you who participated in the process. See below for more information.

New SLP Superintendent Announced

Astein Osei

The SLP School district announced that Astein Osei has been selected to be the next Superintendent of St. Louis Park Public Schools pending successful contract negotiations. The School Board was unanimous in their selection of Osei. School Board Chair Jim Yarosh said, "The School Board is energized and excited about the future of the District. Mr. Osei will build on a really terrific foundation."

Food Trucks, Music, and Fun at Oak Hill Park

Please plan to attend the end-of-year PTO Spring Picnic at Oak Hill Park on Tuesday, May 30^th, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. There will be food trucks, outdoor games, music, a 50/50 raffle, and lots of fun!

We would also like to extend a hearty invitation to our 2017-18 incoming kindergarten families to join us! This event is a great way t to meet the PSI community.

Pack a picnic, or take a break from cooking and cleaning up dinner after the Memorial Day holiday by purchasing food for your family! Money raised at this picnic will help defray the cost for next year's 5^th graders' two-day field trip to Camp Ihduhapi!
