A Weekly Peek at Our Savior's....

MINISTRY IN MOTION

God's good work continues in this place thanks to motivated members, friends, and staff.  Look what's happening in the Evangelism ministry at Our Savior's!

The Evangelism "Come & See" Committee strives to inspire members of Our Savior's to Proclaim, Invite, Encourage, and Energize! We have motion in each of our program themes: Hospitality, Events, and Congregational Engagement. We are making plans for a New Member Mingle picnic, the 2018 Lumberjack Days Parade, and an update to Our Savior's member photo directory.

Our Church is welcoming new members and the Come & See Committee is dedicated to keeping up the momentum. Our wonderful team of volunteer Greeters and Welcome Desk Attendants are opening doors, making friendly introductions, and answering questions. Together we're promoting Our Savior's warm welcoming environment and the active involvement in our faith community.

Our mission is to welcome seekers of Christ's love to our home, Spread the spirit throughout our Community, Nourish spiritual growth to all who witness and follow Christ's example. We get our spiritual inspiration from Hebrews 13:2 - Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that, some have entertained angels without knowing it.

"Come and you will see."

Current Members: Matt Clark (Committee Chair), Kathy Frost, Orv & Kathy Johnson, Dan Stoffer, Lann Zimdars

Does this ministry speak to your heart? If so, contact the Come and See Committee for more information about how you can get involved.

See you in church!

Update from Pastor Dale Stiles

Dear OSLC members & friends,

I am happy to share with you that I have accepted a call to serve as pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Lindstrom, MN beginning July 1.

The ELCA and UMC are full communion partners since 2009 meaning, theologically they are in agreement, they share open communion between denominations, and they share pastors. It is not unusual for Lutheran pastors to serve in Methodist congregations, and vice versa. I will remain rostered as an ELCA pastor in the St. Paul Area Synod (on loan to the UMC).

Carrie and I are both excited about this new opportunity. We have already felt so much support and encouragement from the District Office of the UMC in Mpls. I have met with their Board of Ordained Ministry and with their District Superintendent. The Lindstrom church is small but very active/engaged and poised for growth and new ideas. I will be following a pastor of ten years who is retiring in June.

Thank you for your prayers, friendship and partnership over the last few years.

Pastor Dale
