A Weekly Peek at Our Savior's....

God's good work continues in this place thanks to motivated members, friends, and staff.  Look what's happening in the Giving Team Ministry and the Legacy Committee Ministry at Our Savior's.

Giving Team Ministry
The mission of the Giving Team Ministry at Our Savior's is to encounter Jesus through the generosity of this Church.  We strive to foster an environment of stewardship and giving at OSLC as part of our lives by encouraging people to joyfully share God's gifts of time, talent, and treasure.  Our goal is to foster a spirit of stewardship that reflects a willingness to share...not because Jesus expects, or asks us to...rather, because He allows us to!
We also recognize the mundane responsibilities of meeting payroll, mortgage payments, utilities, and on and on.  But let us never forget the many outreach efforts in our community.  These are efforts that speak directly to the hearts of so many of us.  Virtually every encounter we have with Our Savior's brings awareness of the gifts of time and talent that so many joyfully bring to our Savior's.  We believe that those beautiful people are not necessarily doing this work due to an abundance of generosity but simply because of the joy that Jesus puts in our hearts for this work.
Some of the specific efforts the Giving Team has been engaged with in the last year include:
  • sent thank-you notes to many of those who conspicuously provided a service or gift to Our Savior's
  • designed and directed the Fall Stewardship campaign
  • supported special emphasis for Pledge/Commitment Cards
  • direction and support for the Fall Stewardship Campaign including the various ministries
The Giving Team encourages any and all help, suggestions, energy, time, and love you have to give this Church and this team.  It does not matter the amount of time, talent, or treasure that you give for you will know how much is right for you.
The current members of the Giving Team are Susan Fredrickson, Brad Kruse, Stacy Meyer, Barb & Dave Shaw, and Lann Zimdars (chair).

Legacy Committee Ministry
The Legacy Committee is working on establishing a scholarship fund as a sub-fund of the Legacy Fund. The scholarship fund's intent is for awarding scholarships and providing financial assistance to church members to further their religious education and ministerial development.

The Legacy Fund is an endowment of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
As stated in OSLC by-laws, "The Legacy Fund shall provide a perpetual source of income to benefit several purposes, ..."

Legacy Fund assets are administered by the Legacy Fund Committee and subject to overview of the Church Board of Administration.
The current members are Lara Otsuka, Jim Pavek, Jon Hill, Joel Frost and Mark Fjestad (chair). If this committee interests you, we are looking for more members.
Do either of these ministries speak to your heart?
If so, contact the church office for more info .

See you in church!
