Work Begins to Replace Busy Rt.28 Bridge in Andover
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has started work on a $7 million project to completely replace the Rt.28 bridge that spans commuter railroad tracks in Andover. The project has been broken into two phases so that a portion of the bridge can remain open during reconstruction and limit the impact on residents and commuters. The project is one of the last in MassDOT's accelerated bridge replacement program. Read more

New Zoning Taskforce For Dascomb Road, Andover
At the Andover Town Meeting in May, residents expressed both support and concern for zoning articles that would allow some limited residential development in the Dascomb Road ID2 Zoning District.  Both articles were withdrawn on the floor of Town Meeting and the developer has indicated a desire to move forward with the project under existing zoning.  At the end of September, the Andover Board of Selectmen approved the convening of a task force to facilitate public engagement to identify if housing within the Dascomb Road ID2 district is in the best interest of the Town of Andover.  Learn more about the Dascomb Road Zoning Task Force  and the charge to the task force by the Board of Selectmen.

HR Professionals: We Want You!
Join the New MVTMA Transportation Working Group
Has a lack of transportation options prevented talented candidates from accepting a job at your company or perhaps contributed to an employee leaving your business?  Are you looking to recruit interns for Boston/Cambridge-based or local universities but having trouble getting those students to your facility?  The Merrimack Valley TMA is forming an HR working group to discuss and help solve recruitment/retention challenges related to transportation.  We plan to meet 2-3 times a year to identify issues and develop collaborative solutions. We'll have interesting guest speakers from the HR community who have a unique perspective and have had success on solving various transportation-related concerns.  Stay tuned to our website and to your email for details of our first meeting coming soon!
