The making of Mr. Marmalade
Stage manager and theatre major, Jamie Lindsay checks the day's calendar.

One week from today, the next School of Performing Arts Mainstage production opens. A dark comedy by Noah Haidle,  Mr. Marmalade 's crew is working hard to make sure everything on - and off - stage is set!

Set designer and first year M.F.A. student in scenography, Estefania Perez-Vera takes us behind the scenes. The set goes through stages, starting with drawings and a scale model.

Then it goes on to blueprints, and finally to reality!

Adding Animation
Another unusual technique used in this Mainstage production is the incorporation of animated title sequences throughout the play. Katt Carter is Mr. Marmalade's animator and a senior multimedia journalism student with a cinema minor. She has created original art for the play and will be featured this Friday on our Facebook interview series, Hot Seat with Hokie Bird.

Mr. Marmalade  runs from Feb. 21-28 in Squires Studio Theatre and tickets are on sale now.
