Sacred Sites Open House, May 21
Once again, Grace Church will be participating in the Sacred Sites Open House THIS Sunday, May 21, sponsored by the New York Landmarks Conservancy, from 1 to 4 pm. Docents will be conducting guided tours of the church, and you're welcome to join!

The theme of this year's Sacred Sites event is "Stained Glass: Windows on This World and the Next." Bob Whiteford, author of "Hidden Grace: A Study of the Signs, Symbols and History of Grace Episcopal Church, Brooklyn Heights," will be delivering talks at 2 and 3 pm on our stained glass windows.

Grace Garden Guild
Help us create a garden that welcomes members of our Grace community and beckons in the passerby.  A guild of volunteers is being formed to bring creativity and energy to these long-neglected areas.  Members of the Guild will help cultivate, plant and maintain the beds and planters around the courtyard and at the corner of Hicks and Grace Court.  Join us in the garden! To volunteer or learn more contact Anne+

Spread the word…GCS parents and neighborhood parents are welcome too!
Wise Aging Group Meets on Thursdays

All are welcome to this informal, conversational group centered around both the joys and hard realities of aging. This group is led by The Rev. Anne Richards and is open to everyone at Grace and beyond. Spread the word!

SAVE THE DATE: Parents Night Out! May 31
Everyone is invited to a Parents Night Out on Wednesday, May 31 from 7 - 9 pm in the Guild Hall. Join us for an informal conversation with The Rev. Anne Richards: “Raising a Good Kid in a Culture of Affluence and Entitlement”. Leave your spouse at home with your children, or get a babysitter and come together. Wine and snacks, too. These have been very enjoyable evenings in the past….the fun continues! No RSVP necessary.

Annual Parish BBQ, June 11
Dear Fellow Parishioners,

The day of our Annual Parish BBQ is fast approaching - Sunday, June 11, alongside Grace Court. So that the entire Grace Church community can be together that day, we are having only one service, at 11 am. Please help make this event a fun one, by bringing salads and/or desserts and volunteering to help grill hamburgers and hot dogs!

To volunteer your grilling time, or to let us know what type of salad or dessert you will bring, please contact Martha Bakos Dietz at  [email protected]  or 718-237-2263, or Emily Horcher at  [email protected]  or 718-625-1586.

Call for Photos!

We are happy to accept photos taken at Grace on Sundays or at special events for possible inclusion in our weekly Grace e-Notes. Names of the people or children in the photos are not ordinarily included. Feel free to email photos to Christian in the Parish Office. Please make sure you have set your camera to the highest possible resolution before taking or sending photos. We are especially interested in close-up photos of people, individually or in small groups (not empty pews, architectural details, and so forth, though these will occasionally be used).
Office Angels Ministry
We are streamlining our parish offices practices. In order to free up our Parish Administrator for truly administrative tasks, we would like to form a group of volunteers who would be willing to come to the parish office on Fridays  2:00 - 3:30 pm to handle the photocopying of Sunday bulletins. We hope to form a flock of several Office Angels for this purpose. Are you interested? Call Anne+ 718-624-1850, ext. 14 or the Parish Office, 718-624-1850, ext. 10

Grace name tags available to all worshippers
If you are new to Grace, welcome! Attractive magnetic name tags are available for you to wear when you are at church. These are a huge help in helping us learn each other’s names and in building community.

If you don’t yet have a name tag, fill out a Grace Contact Form (near the name tag board at the back of the church), and on the Welcome Table, also at the back of the church. Name tags are not only for newcomers…we all wear them, including kids! If you have a pacemaker, you should not wear a magnetic tag; we have an alternative tag for you. Questions? Contact our Parish Administrator, Christian DeRuiter, in the Parish Office at 718.624.1850.
