Next North Room Chat

At our “North Room Chats,” we discuss spirituality and Christianity in bite-sized chunks. No need to prepare in advance. No need to have attended a prior chat. Just be open to learning something new, sharing your own life experiences, and, most importantly, growing in the Christian faith. The next Chat will be this Sunday, August 5 from 10:15 to 10:45 am in the classroom at Gym level in the Parish House. The following North Room Chat will take place on September 2. Join us!
Next Docent Tour
this Sunday, August 5
Parishioners and visitors alike are warmly invited to explore the interior of our 1847 Gothic Revival church. Tour lasts around 30-45 minutes and starts after the 11 am Eucharist, around 12:30 pm.

Special Film Screening and Discussion at
Brooklyn Academy of Music:
"Crime + Punishment"
Tuesday, August 7
Join the Brooklyn Community Foundation next Tuesday, August 7 at 7 pm , for a special screening of the award-winning documentary " Crime + Punishment " at the Brooklyn Academy of Music , followed by a discussion with local advocates Lurie Daniel Favors from the Center for Law and Social Justice and Albert Saint Jean from Black Alliance for Just Immigration.

The documentary exposes racism, corruption, and intimidation within the NYPD. Shot between 2014 and 2017, "Crime + Punishment" chronicles the efforts of the NYPD 12, a band of officers of color who speak out against the continued use of arrest and summons quotas—an officially illegal practice that overwhelmingly targets young black and Hispanic men. All-Day Spiritual Healing Symposium:
Saturday, August 25
On Saturday, August 25 , Arukah Ministries will present “A Conversation with My Hurt and My Heart,” a Psalm 42:5 Symposium about spiritual healing in the Guild Hall. 

Arukah Ministries is a faith-based organization in Brooklyn that centers on bringing healing and restoration to people's lives. It is named for the Hebrew word Arukah : meaning healing, wholeness and restoration.

Panelists will address six topics, ranging from #MeToo experiences to hardened vs. guarded hearts. The symposium, running from 10 am to 6 pm , will include a complimentary continental breakfast and lunch.

The Institution of The Rev. Dr. Allen F. Robinson as the 15th Rector of Grace Church, Brooklyn Heights will take place Sunday, October 21 , 2018 at 4:00 pm . Festive reception to follow in the Guild Hall.
Grace Church School Applications
Parish families interested in applying for admission to Grace Church School for the 2019-2020 school year may request an application online , beginning at 9 am on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 . Prospective parents should note that the school recognizes the importance of diversity in its student body.

Completed applications are due September 28, 2018 . Tours will be assigned once completed applications are received. 

Please indicate if you are applying under Special Consideration status as a Grace Church Parish Member (early notification and commitment, if offered a place). Special consideration eligibility does not guarantee admission to the school.

Grace Church School is committed to making pre-school a viable option for all. Financial Aid is available for students from Twos through Pre-Kindergarten and is awarded on the base of need and availability of funds.
