Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. invites residents to the 4th Annual District 5 Family Fun Day. "Family Fun Day will include entertainment, fitness, and giveaways,” said Commissioner Arrington. He added, “We want to bring our District 5 residents together for fellowship, fun, and entertainment while also promoting wellness with a food pantry and physical activities to encourage healthier lifestyles.”

Upcoming Forum Focuses on Recovery of Our Community
in the Midst of an Opioid Epidemic
Commissioner Liz Hausmann and the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority invite you to attend the 2018 North Fulton County Community Health Forum. Commissioner Hausmann emphasizes the purpose of the forum, “This Forum will focus on opioid addiction. Communities and families are being destroyed by this epidemic. We have heard hundreds of stories, both locally and nationally, regarding the deadly dangers of opioid addiction. We want to assist with linking our residents to the resources available here in North Fulton, and will discuss how to recognize the problem and learn where they can get help.”

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Saturday, April 28, 2018, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The goal is for people across the country to responsibly dispose of prescription drugs and to increase awareness about the potential for abuse of medications.

Early Voting Starts Monday
In order to avoid long lines on Election Day, Fulton County voters are encouraged to cast their ballots early for the May 22, 2018 General Primary/Nonpartisan and Special Election. There will be 21 early voting locations.

Brands, Walmart and more – has picked Atlanta for its next Opportunity Youth Hiring Fair. Library System To Hold Public Meeting on
Central Library Renovation
The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System will hold an additional public meeting on the redesign and renovation of the Central Library/System HQ project. The renovation is part of Phase II of the Library’s Capital Improvement Plan. During the meeting, Fulton County officials, Library officials and representatives from Cooper Carry Architects will share plans for the downtown library’s redesign and continue to gather input on the proposed design.

Fulton County’s Community Development Block Grant Program Seeks Community Service Partners
Fulton County’s Department of Community Development has released the 2018 Community Development Block Grant application. Local nonprofits, public organizations, and Community Based Development Organizations (CBDOs), with missions that enable communities to address projects that affect the health and welfare of their most vulnerable citizens, are encouraged to apply.
 
Agencies that are approved for funding will receive a contract agreement for reimbursement of grant related 2018 community service expenses.  Click here for the 2018 application.
