How Good Is Your Mobility?

At Blue Hills Sports & Spine, we see lots of people with neck and shoulder issues. Many of these people have problems with general mobility due to things they do regularly in their lives. Most people spend a good portion of their day working at computers, driving and sitting. Without doing things to combat the general loss in mobility that can occur, people start to notice symptoms like neck and shoulder pain, difficulty with reaching and in some cases numbness or radiating pain. We have put together a few simple things you can test at home to see how your mobility is. Click here for the tests and give them a try. If you find that you aren't even close to being able to perform them, it might be time to come in and see one of our experts!

Concussions Aren't Just For Football Players

If you have kids in youth sports, than hopefully you are getting plenty of information about concussions, ways to hopefully prevent them and the dangers that can occur if you ignore the signs and symptoms. Concussion and  Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) are a hot topic now because of the growing number of football players that are suffering from both. The most important thing you can do as a parent of a child participating in sports is to be aware of what to look for, because it doesn't always have to be hitting your head that causes a concussion. TeamSnap is a company that caters to helping people coordinate schedules for youth sports teams, but they also have some really good resources on concussion and CTE. Do yourself (and your children) a favor and click on the image above to be taken to their concussion information page. You will be glad you did. Physical Therapy can help people suffering from symptoms. Hopefully you don't need our services, but Blue Hills Sports & Spine has people trained to help with recovery.
