WHITE PLAINS, NY - September 22, 2015 - URGENT APPEAL - Furniture Sharehouse announced last Wednesday that it had given away its last bed in stock. Furniture Sharehouse serves 10-18 families & individuals each week, they are reaching out to the community in this special appeal to help restock much needed mattresses, box springs and adjustable bed frames.
As many of the clientele live in small walk-up apartments, size and weight restrict what can be distributed. Westchester residents are encouraged to donate mattresses and box springs that are in good usable condition (rip, stain and pest free) in Twin, Full and Queen sizes, and adjustable metal bed frames. Items can be brought to their warehouse during the week by appointment on Wednesdays & Thursdays mornings or on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:30am (next warehouse 3rd Saturday is October 17th). The warehouse is located at the county airport at:
Loop Road, Building #3, Westchester County Airport, White Plains, NY 10604.
Furniture Sharehouse is also participating in the Cortlandt Community Swap Day on September 26th and will be holding a Furniture Drive in Yonkers on October 24th. More information about furniture drives, drop-offs and pick-ups can be found on their website:

Donated furniture is distributed to local Westchester individuals and families in need through over 25 member agencies which refer pre-qualified clients to Furniture Sharehouse to select much-needed free furniture. Member agencies include: Westhab Inc., Human Development Services of Westchester, Hope's Door, Family Services of Westchester, Washingtonville Housing Alliance and The Guidance Center.
Furniture Sharehouse is counting on this appeal to drive needed donations of beds so they can continue their mission to help make a house a home for those in need and provide a Good Night's Sleep.
