"People Saving Places: Stories About the Importance of Place"
is an exciting new video project  Landmarks Illinois
has launched in 2017!

In partnership with Kennedy-King College's Media Communications Department, Landmarks Illinois has produced eight, short videos of people saving places in communities throughout the state. Over the last couple of months, Landmarks Illinois staff and four Kennedy-King College student interns have traveled around Illinois to capture on film the inspiring stories of people dedicated to historic preservation. These stories show how people are leveraging historic preservation to boost economic development, attract cultural heritage tourism and increase pride of place.

On Friday, April 21, Landmarks Illinois will host a screening event at the historic Roxy Cinemas in Ottawa to showcase the eight videos produced by the students. The screening event includes a discussion with the students on their travel experiences around the state to capture these inspiring stories. A reception at the nearby The Lone Buffalo in Ottawa will immediately follow the screening. Reception tickets include appetizers and two drink tickets.

Space for the reception is limited. Secure your spot today!
