Planking Progress Bristol Marine has been wonderful since they have taken over The Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor. They have been sharing many photos and videos on their Facebook page . 124 Years Young We recently celebrated the 124th anniversary of Ernestina-Morrissey's launch. We thought we'd use the flags she has carried over those years to decorate the cake. What a life she has had! From the Grand Banks, to northern Greenland, west to Siberia, east to Senegal, and back to Massachusetts. 1932 on the Morrissey During #BlackHistoryMonth we honored Captain Henrique Mendes and Ernestina-Morrissey ’s African connections. For March’s #WomensHistoryMonth we honor Marie Peary Stafford who was Admiral Peary's daughter. She brought her two sons, Edward "Bud" and Peary "Junior" aboard Captain Bartlett's Morrissey during a voyage to build a monument to her father during the summer of 1932. (at right: Just before the monument was unveiled, Capt. Bartlett and Mre. Stafford, center, her sons to the right) The voyage was co-sponsored by her family and Arthur D. Norcross. Marie Stafford kept a journal which is an interesting glimpse of shipboard life for the only woman on the voyage. READ MORE  WATCH 1932 Newsreels:
