As recently announced, in early 2017 United will release Basic Economy fares. The new fare category has been designed  specifically  for price-sensitive travelers and comes with important, additional restrictions compared to standard United Economy fares.

Although these fares will initially only be offered in select domestic and short-haul Latin America markets, Basic Economy will be available as an option across all distribution channels and points of sale.

We want to ensure you are prepared for the launch of Basic Economy - whether you choose to sell our new fares to customers or perhaps, choose not to offer them as an option within your preferred distribution channel.

To set you up for success, we have provided information packets below about the fares, including specific details on they display, how you can offer them to customers or how you can hide them so they do not display when the lowest fare logic is used.

The information below is designed to facilitate conversations between our corporate, agency and distribution partners about next steps and preferred approaches.
