Beginning October 18, Families First Health Center will be open on Saturday mornings, 7:30 a.m. to noon. Patients can schedule in advance, call for a same-day appointment, or walk in -- calling ahead is best to reduce your waiting time. (Walk-in and same-day appointments are for established Families First medical patients only. Not a patient yet? Click for enrollment info.) Families First Dental Center is also open on some Saturdays.

2 Ways to Get Breast Cancer Screenings
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Families First reminds all women to stay up-to-date on their clinical breast exams and mammograms. On October 29th, we're offering them at no cost for uninsured women who meet certain income guidelines.

Medicaid Covers Dental Emergencies
Although Medicaid coverage for dental care for adults is limited, Medicaid will cover an emergency exam, an x-ray and extraction (for pain and/or infection). If you've been putting off dealing with a toothache because you thought you couldn't afford the bills, and if you are a Families First Health Center patient with Medicaid coverage, call 603-422-8208 ext. 3 and let our Dental Center take care of you. For treatment not covered by insurance, we offer a sliding fee scale.

Expanded Medicaid -- now also covering adults), you'll have coverage for doctor and hospital visits, prescription drugs, visits to specialists and more. Free Expo for Seniors
All are invited to the free Senior Healthy Living Expo on Tuesday, October 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Campus in Portsmouth. The Expo features more than 100 educational resources and vendors, free health screenings, demonstrations, giveaways and more.
