St. Mary Romanian Festival Set for This Weekend of August 18, 19, and 20
This coming weekend, enjoy good food and lively folk music on the grounds of
Saint Mary Romanian Orthodox Cathedral
, 3256 Warren Road, where admission is free and so is the parking. The festivities begin on Friday, from 4:30 to 11 p.m. They continue on Saturday, from 2 to 11 p.m., and on Sunday, from noon to 10 p.m.
Authentic Romanian cuisine is cooked fresh daily. Diverse blending of traditions from the Balkans and other European neighbors results in a full menu of Romanian delicacies. These include chicken paprikash, stuffed cabbage, polenta baked with sour cream and cheese, and mititei (not hamburger, not sausage, but mighty good!). A variety of freshly baked pastries round out the menu.
Enjoy the Romanian folk music -- soulful, romantic, energetic, and exhilarating. A live orchestra will entertain all weekend, along with high-stepping dancers. Click
