When it gets hot, you'd better watch out for lightning!
What better way get that "flash of lightning effect" than with the new Raggedy Ruth Designs quilting pattern "Sash of Lightning"!
Ruth has combined the traditional and modern: traditional pieced blocks are combined with the modern look of chevrons. This is accomplished by her new, and surprisingly simple, technique of sashing only two sides of a block and then putting the sashed block on point - Voila!
To give it a bit of extra pizazz she continues the lightning sash into the first border! Using an inset corner on the plain blocks provides the symmetry as well as completes the appearance of lightning!
As you may know, Raggedy Ruth combines the new with techniques that allow the quilter to get great results. In the pattern Ruth has included templates to assist you in aligning triangles to protect those pesky points. Also, for anyone that may find piecing the inset squares in the plain blocks and setting triangles a bit difficult, an option appliqued method is provided.
