President's Address
In Memory of Gwen Morgan

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Gwen Morgan, a respected individual and a national leader in early education and childcare. In New Hampshire, and for
NH AEYC, Gwen and her husband served as a driving force in supporting and recognizing the importance of developing early childhood educators as emerging leaders, and sustaining this growth through the Gwen and Henry Morgan Fund, which provides scholarship through the Gwen and Henry Morgan Award each year.

Gwen was a pioneer in our field, and will be greatly missed.

Register here for  Infants and Toddlers: Naturally Vulnerable-Engineering for  Strength

Presenter Lori Harris shared, "One could argue that all infants and toddlers are vulnerable since they are dependent on others for their survival. The most vulnerable of that group are the one that have families living in conditions that include poverty or abusing drugs and alcohol with few resources available to them. Teachers in classrooms do not always know the details of situations families are facing, but do have professional knowledge and obligations to create environments that are safe havens for children and their families."

Sessions in this five-part series will be centered on Child Abuse and Neglect, the Inclusive Classroom, Infant/Toddler Mental Health, Medical Considerations and Language & Culture.

Sessions are scheduled on the following Mondays from 6-9PM; October 12th and 26th. The final session will be held on Saturday November 7 from 9am - 3pm at Manchester Community College in Manchester, NH.

Earlier this summer, NAEYC announced its first ever Young Professionals Advisory Council. This group was formed with a clear goal in mind: helping NAEYC strengthen its recruitment, retention and engagement of young professionals in the field.

The first meeting of the 2015-16 YPAC will take place in conjunction with NAEYC's Annual Conference and Expo, November 18-21 in Orlando, FL.

With this group's help, NAEYC looks forward to more effectively connecting with the youngest members of the profession.

Annual Spring Conference!

"Hand-In-Hand we are Building a Community of Learners"

The NHAEYC Annual Conference has moved back to Nashua Community College!

We are currently looking for presenters! To apply and receive the RFP, please email springconference@nhaeyc.com

Message from our chair:

On behalf of the conference committee and board of NHAEYC, I would like to thank Plymouth State University for holding our conference over the past several years. This partnership has been instrumental in building our community of learners and we look forward to working with the school and our colleagues on future projects.

The move to Nashua, one year early is a decision on behalf of our member requests. Easy access, ample parking, one building to navigate. Thank you for your flexibility and devotion to NHAEYC. The committee looks forward to bringing you a great conference! A day of fun, learning and connections with teachers and partners!

Hand-in-hand, we are building a community of learnings.

See you in April!
