"Spiritual Readiness"

Dear Members & Friends of Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
This coming Sunday marks the beginning of the Advent season. Advent is the period of time before Christmas that we set aside to get ready. Not by baking, decorating, wrapping, or shopping. That readiness is on a different level than the readiness the Scripture calls us to.
We are called in Advent to get our hearts ready and to prepare the way of the Lord. We anticipate Christ coming as the Son of God at Christmas. There must be some intentionality to that readiness as well. So, I invite you to worship the next four weeks as we offer opportunities to help you in getting ready.
Two Sundays in Advent will include the annual Cantata on Dec. 10, and the annual children's Christmas program on Dec. 17. One combined Advent service will be offered on Christmas Eve at 9:00 a.m. since it falls on a Sunday this year. Our usual Christmas Eve services will still be at 3:00, 4:30 and 11:00 p.m.
I look forward to walking this Advent journey with you as we all, together, wait, watch and prepare for our Savior's birth.
Peace and blessings,
Pastor Dale

Health Information for Worship
With winter upon us, we must be mindful of decreasing the spread of germs to others. Stacy Meyer, Parish Nurse, will be having no touch hand sanitizer stations installed at the doors of both worship areas in the coming week. Along with this, please be aware that people with colds, allergies and asthma may have a hard time breathing when there are a lot of scents in the air. Please try to minimize our perfumes, cologne and scented lotions, this would help to improve their ability to breathe and allow them to worship alongside us as brothers and sisters in Christ.
