With fresh snow on the ground, don't forget to send in your photos to our Snow Sculpture contest.  Registration is on-going for several   spring sports  and swim programs .  Coming March 28, we have a FREE Positive Coaching Alliance workshop for coaches of youth sports participants. 
 
Summer camp program registration begins in April; get a pre-view in our   Summer Camps Brochure. Specific registration forms for Kamp Kairphree, Greenwich Adventurers, and Music and Art Camp will be available the end of March.   The Summer Schedule for Tennis is now available.  Registration begins on-line April 3.  Youth and adult tennis clinic instruction will be held in June, July and early August.  

Save the date of Saturday, April 22 for our annual Kite Flying Festival. There are quite a few  job openings in Parks and Recreation for spring and summer.   Cos Cob Preschool  is accepting registrations for the 2017-18 year. The date for 2017  Fireworks has been set for July 1.

Greenwich Community Gardens is holding garden plot sign-up days the last weekend in March at the Cos Cob Firehouse; read more.

Spring Swim Program  springswim
Registration Accepted Now
We are now accepting registration for our  Spring Swim Program for youth.  Classes with instruction will be held for Novice to Intermediate levels and there will time for parents to have free play with their children without instruction. Classes will be held on 8 Saturdays beginning April 1 at the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club Pool

Cos Cob Preschool preschool
Register Now for 2017-18
Cos Cob Preschool, licensed by the State of CT, is for ages 3 and 4.  Classes are held Monday-Friday, 9:00 -11:30 AM, and families may sign up for classes 3, 4, or 5 days per week.  The Preschool's Mission is to provide a safe, happy, fun loving environment in which children can learn and grow.  Our teachers will help children to learn and live by the principles of honesty, compassion, and fairness.  Registration is available  on-line.
Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase
April 20, 5:30 - 8:30 PM
Greenwich Recreation will be participating in the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase along with over 75 exhibitors and 15 restaurants and markets.   The event will be held at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center, on April 20 from 5:30-8:30 PM.  Tickets are $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members. Youth Softball, T-ball, Baseball Registration
Adult Pickleball
Registration is on-going for several spring sports programs. Mighty Mites Spring Soccer is available for  children ages 3 to 9.   Co-ed T-Ball is available for ages 4 and 5.  Children must be 4 or 5 by April 30, 2017.  Children 6 years old can participate in Small Fry I Baseball which incorporates coach pitching and using the T if necessary.  Small Fry II Baseball is an instructional league for 7 year-olds.

Softball Junior Division is for girls ages 7 and 8.  This is a coach-pitch league; players will learn the basic skills of the game including throwing, catching, and hitting.    Junior Baseball is an instructional league for ages 8 and 9.  Combined player and coach pitching as well as instruction during game-play will be incorporated for continued learning.  Girls ages 9 to 14 can participate in the Town's   Babe Ruth Softball League in a 10U, 12U, or 14U program.

The  3rd Annual Pickleball Round Robin will be held April 1.  Download a Round Robin registration flyer..   Resident adults who know how to play Pickleball can now register on-line or by mail for Indoor Spring Pickleball one, two, or three days per week beginning in March.   
Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink  DHSR
The Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink will be holding it's final public sessions of the season on March 25.  Get your skating in while you can!

  
Public skating sessions are held on the following days and times:
Weekdays   12:00-1:30 PM
Wednesdays & Fridays    3:30-5:00 PM
Saturdays & Sundays   2:00-4:00 PM
Tuesdays  6:30-7:45 PM, 7:45-9:00 PM ADULTS only
Fridays   7:30-9:00 PM

Eastern Greenwich Civic Center EGCC
The EGCC has many activities planned including, Pickleball,  Friday Night Roller Skating,  Tennis for Tots, Wednesday Painters Group, Archery Team, Green Moon Children's Art Studio,  Good Dog Training Classes and more.   For additional information on these and other

The Civic Center has rooms of varying sizes available to rent for your next party, meeting, or class!  Call us at (203) 637-4583 or contact us by e-mail .  The EGCC is located at 90 Harding Road in Old Greenwich.  
BWGCCBendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center
Registration for Youth Golf Clinics  for ages 6-10 is on-going.  Jay and Ray Music  has classes for ages 6 months to 4 years old.  Also, Jack Rabbit Gymnastics  spring session begins in March.   Tennis for Tots Spring  program registration has begun.  Girls ages 9-13 can play in a winter  Volleyball Clinic    BWGCC has other fun programs for youth including, Just Wee Two, and Italian Classes.  Check out the many programs of The Dance Pointe which are held at BWGCC.  The Dance Pointe is taking registration now for Summer 2017.

Adults can participate in Zumba classes.  Open Coed Adult Volleyball is held Tuesdays from 7:30-9:00 PM.    Adults can drop-in to play Pickleball; see the  Pickleball schedule    KG Fitness Boot Camp class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Register for one or both evenings.

Special Recreation
Abilis meets the needs of people with developmental disabilities throughout their lives.  Abilis works in schools, civic organizations, and with families throughout Fairfield County.  Their events are posted on their website calendar.

Also, the Stamford JCC offers a unique summer experience for Pre-K to Kindergarteners and 3rd to 8th Graders with a variety of needs. Read more.

Department Wide News .....

As a reminder, when registering for programs or reserving facilities for the first time in 2017, each Greenwich household will need to provide proper proof of residency for the new year.  For complete information on rules and regulations of Parks and Recreation, click here for the Greenwich Town Code, Chapter 7.

The Greenwich Parks & Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and  programs.  The foundation is a 501(c)(3).  For more information and to donate, visit the Foundation website .
  
Through the Parks & Recreation Foundation, one is able to donate to the Parks & Recreation Scholarship Fund.
Connecticut Boating Course
In conjunction with the Greenwich Marine Police, the Greenwich Sail & Power Squadron is offering  a Boating Course on Saturday, May 6 or Saturday, June 10.   Read more.  
Weather Cancellation Information
Please make note of the Recreation Division's weather cancellation hotline phone # (203) 861-6100.  Information regarding cancellations and closures is also posted on our Recreation Sports Website , where you can also sign up to get text alerts and/or e-mails notifying you of changes. 

Recreation Credit and Refund Policy
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program.  There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits.
  
The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled.  Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.
