Productive people are fleeing California.
High gas, sales and income taxes. The worst roads in the State, failed schools, hate, bigotry and bullying rampant on the college campuses. This is a State that is collapsing, like its pension system.
Folks see special interest and unions running the State
and its agencies—real people have no say in governance. There is even a proposal to force all homes to be “electrified, at a cost of almost $10,000, PLUS a TAX of about $900 a year on the homes to continue its wasteful electrification, mandated by the government.

During the 1846 Bear Flag Revolt,
a small group of American settlers in California rebelled against the Mexican government and proclaimed California an independent republic. The republic was short-lived because soon after the Bear Flag was raised, the U.S. military began occupying California, which went on to join the union in 1850. The Bear Flag became the official state flag in 1911.
